The Road to Vegas 2025: NYC

Ready for a thrilling showdown as New York, Florida, and California host three of the most competitive, invite-only professional doubles tournaments in the U.S.! In this electrifying battle, 48 elite teams will fight fiercely for the ultimate prize: a fully sponsored trip to Las Vegas and a top seed in the highly anticipated Las Vegas Shoot Out.

June promises to be an exhilarating month for handball enthusiasts! Kicking off the excitement is RTV California, held on June 7th at La Mirada Park in Los Angeles. West coast host Tom Flores will command all the action, setting the stage for an unforgettable tournament.

Next up, Florida turns up the heat with Justin Rodriguez hosting at "Handball Heaven" in Hollywood Beach on June 21st. Expect fierce competition as the best from Florida, joined by teams from Puerto Rico and beyond, vie for their spot in Las Vegas.

Meanwhile, New York City is buzzing with anticipation as it gears up to welcome the top 16 teams from the Northeast Region. Hosted by Carlos Centeno in Queens and streamed live on Facebook and YouTube by TensFinest, the Road to Vegas NYC promises epic battles featuring returning champions and promising rising stars.

A few teams to keep an eye on:

Tywan and Edwin

Tywan is currently considered the overall best handball player in the world in the open singles division of one-wall handball. In doubles, he's almost always guaranteed to be seen in the finals regardless of who his partner is, but in this tournament, he teams up with an old partner, Edwin, who some say is arguably the best weak-side partner in the game.

These two have a serious chance to win it all. Tywan is a powerful player with a lot of speed and quickness. Edwin brings a level of intelligence to the team's strategy that keeps teams guessing. Keep an eye on these two as they'll most likely be one of the top seeds to win a full ride to Las Vegas!

"Clutch" Sam and Jomar

Philadelphia's Finest! These two are considered the best team Philly's ever produced. Jomar, "The Philly Shooter," is just that—a shooter. If you give him even the slightest chance to kill that ball, he'll do it from nearly anywhere on the court. "Clutch" Sam got his nickname because he's the player you want on your team when the game is tight. Sam's known for stepping up as the pressure builds. Miss-hits are a rarity. Some might say Sam's the most consistent support player in the division.

It's rare to see players from outside of New York City compete with the top New York ballers, but this deadly combo has placed 2nd in the Buddha Memorial in Coney Island and 1st in the Battle of the Kings on their home turf, defying the odds by beating top New Yorkers, Los and Tavo.

Timbo & Allan.

"The GOAT" and the "Weak Side Wizard"

This team, some would consider the best team ever. Timbo's speed and shot selection along with Allan's strategy and court awareness made this team unbeatable for about a 3-year stretch. They have won every major doubles tournament in and out of New York City, including The Buddha Memorial, USHA National Championships, and more.

Both players have power and a profound knowledge of the game, but what sets them apart is their ability to offset each other's skill sets, playing in perfect harmony on the court. In the game, you'll watch Timbo's fast pace keep his opponents on their heels while Allan's ball placement will make it nearly impossible for his opponents to take a dominant position.

As June unfolds, the excitement surrounding the doubles handball games intensifies, showcasing some of the most competitive matchups in the sport. With players vying for their chance to shine in Las Vegas, every game promises thrilling action and unforgettable moments. Don’t miss out on this exhilarating month of handball; stay tuned and cheer on your favorites as they battle for glory and a coveted spot in the championship!
